8 weeks

8 weeks  December 28th, 2009 224 days to go
8 weeks pregnant

By the end of your second month of pregnancy, your baby is about the size of a pinto bean and is approximately 14 to 20 mm long. However, by 6 weeks of pregnancy, your uterus has grown to the size of a grapefruit! Your baby is developing at an amazing rate during these early weeks. Eyelid folds and ears are forming. Your baby's eyes are still very wide apart on the sides of her head, but will eventually center themselves out. The tip of the nose is actually present at this time as well. On ultrasound you can see that the aortic and pulmonary valves of the heart are present. The tubes that lead from the throat to lungs are branching and your baby's torso is getting longer and beginning to straighten out

The tiny person is protected by the amniotic sac, filled with fluid. Inside, the child swims and moves gracefully. The arms and legs have lengthened, and fingers can be seen. The toes will develop in the next few days.

The umbilical cord contains 3 blood vessels which link your baby's system to yours. The big one supplies your baby with blood which is rich in oxygen. The two smaller blood vessels return blood to the placenta. This blood is low in oxygen, and full of waste materials. At birth, umbilical cord can be two to four feet long.

Well i have been bleeding for 4 days straight. My morning sickness is gone and i feel weird so i called the clinic and they said to come in and see why im bleeding and if im having a miscarriage. With worry we went to the clinic. they did another Ultrasound

They said that i was showing i was around 7 weeks or so but they are four days off. I know i know that's not that much but I'm sticking with my body and what i feel since i know my body better than anyone. Phoenix(our son) measured small to in the beginning. The heartbeat was 158 (they say if the heartbeat is over 140 its a girl! i guess this goes along better with everyone who think im having a girl!) They couldn't figure out why i was bleeding but said that if i keep bleeding into the 12th week or later i will be a high risk pregnancy.

Here is some info on them:

Prenatal vitamins for moms in the know

Did you know that the March of Dimes® recommends that all women of childbearing age take a multivitamin containing folic acid?22 With PreNexa® prenatal vitamins, you can feel good knowing that before conception, during your pregnancy, and throughout breastfeeding, you have made the right decision for you and your baby.
  • PreNexa® prenatal vitamins are a source of folic acid, which, in addition to a healthy diet, helps reduce the risk of neural tube defects (NTDs)7
  • DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, is a key omega-3 fatty acid found throughout the body, and it helps with the development of baby’s brain and eyes8,9
  • Unlike other sources of DHA, PreNexa® DHA is plant-based—it is derived from microalgae10
  • PreNexa® prenatal vitamins contain an additional source of vitamin B61
  • PreNexa® prenatal vitamins contain docusate sodium—a gentle stool softener—for added comfort during pregnancy1

They dont smell like fish and i love that fact they kinda smell like candy.
